General Manager - Vineyard

Location – Long Island NY

We’re seeking a dynamic General Manager for a prestigious winery on the east end of Long Island, overseeing all aspects of operations including the tasting room, sales, marketing, and vineyard management. The GM will focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences while maintaining the highest quality wine production standards and growth.
Compensation – 85,000-95,000/year

What you'll be doing:

Operational Management:
•  Manage all aspects of the winery including tasting room operations, wine sales, vineyard management, and production scheduling
•  Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations for all staff
•  Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations of wine production and sales
Sales and Marketing:
•  Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to maximize wine sales across direct-to-consumer channels (tasting room, wine club, online), wholesale accounts, and special events
•  Manage wine club membership program, membership drives, personalized communication, and exclusive benefits
•  Lead marketing initiatives to build brand awareness, promote new releases, and engage with customers through social media, email campaigns, and public relations
Financial Oversight:
•  Develop, manage the winery budget, forecasting sales and expenses to ensure profitability
•  Analyze sales data and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization
•  Monitor inventory levels and manage wine production costs
Customer Experience:
•  Foster a welcoming and educational environment in the tasting room, ensuring exceptional guest experiences through knowledgeable staff and engaging wine tastings
•  Cultivate relationships with local businesses and community organizations to promote the winery and attract new customers
Vineyard Management:
•  Collaborate closely with the vineyard manager to oversee vineyard operations, including grape quality control, sustainable practices, and harvest planning
•  Monitor weather conditions and implement necessary vineyard management strategies to optimize
What you’ll bring to the role:
•  Proven experience in managing a successful winery operation, preferably in a premium wine region
•  Deep knowledge of wine production, viticulture, and wine tasting in California
•  Strong sales and marketing skills with a demonstrated ability to build customer loyalty
•  Excellent financial acumen and budgeting experience
•  Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a passion for the wine industry
•  Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field preferred
