ABOUT THE ROLE
The Warehouse Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse within a food production environment. This position ensures accurate and efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods.
The Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining compliance with all food safety, quality, and health regulations, while also supporting overall production goals. This includes leading and developing a team of warehouse personnel, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring that all warehouse activities align with operational standards and timelines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storing, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping.
· Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, SQF, FDA/USDA) and company policies.
· Monitor and maintain proper storage conditions, including temperature-controlled zones, to ensure food quality and self-life.
· Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve productivity, accuracy, and safety goals.
· Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols.
· Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely movement of materials and products.
· Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP software to track inventory and generate reports.
· Oversee FIFO/FEFO practices and manage inventory rotation to minimize waste and expiration.
· Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies or shipping issues.
· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety requirements.
· Assist in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
· Conduct cycle counts and Random blind counts
· Monitor counts for raw goods and Packaging for Production
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field preferred.
· Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse environment, preferably within food manufacturing or distribution.
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive performance.
· Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulatory compliance, including HACCP, GMP, FDA/USDA, and SQF.
· Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and Microsoft Excel; strong overall computer literacy.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
· Forklift certification preferred.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in cold or refrigerated environments as required.

The plant facility is not air-conditioned and there will be exposure to loud machinery. The noise level can be moderate to high. The company requires employees to wear uniforms, hair nets, safety shoes and adhere to GMP guidelines. The employee works near moving mechanical parts; therefore, attentiveness and safety are of the utmost importance.
