Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Utility Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in underground utility construction and be responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for water, sewer, and storm drain infrastructure projects. This role is critical to the success of our preconstruction efforts and involves close collaboration with project managers, field staff, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and site conditions to determine utility scopes.
• Perform precise quantity takeoffs for water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Collaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to assess constructability and project sequencing.
• Prepare and submit clear, professional bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for scope completeness and accuracy.
• Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• Participate in post-bid reviews and assist in project handoff to operations teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in underground utility construction.
• In-depth knowledge of civil utility drawings, profiles, and construction methods.
• Familiarity with trench safety, local utility codes, and best practices.
• Proficiency in estimating tools such as Bluebeam, Agtek, HCSS , or similar platforms.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
